Medium / high voltage capacitor banks are used for power factor correction, voltage level matching and loss reduction in cables and transformers. Its application is to provide large amounts of capacitive reactive through reactive compensation by load grouping. The capacitor banks can be fixed (without automation) or automatic depending on the load level throughout the day. The deployments of capacitor banks can be in panel, galvanized steel structure with or without elevation.

Banco de capacitores de surto também conhecidos como snubber, normalmente são aplicados em entradas de subestações e proteção de transformadores de potência. Sua função é a supressão de surtos de frequência e tensão, prevenindo a queima de equipamentos.
